The Beggar's Opera
Nissay Theatre, Tokyo

The Japanese première of this adaptation opened at the Nissay Theatre in Tokyo on the 7th January 2006.
The revival run re-opened at the Nissay on 6th February 2008 before touring to the Geijutsu Gekijo (Arts Theatre) in Osaka, produced by the Toho Company.
A live performance of this production was recorded by Wowow television and transmitted in Japan in the spring of 2007.

In the revival production, the above cast was changed as follows:
The Player – Kondo Yosuke
Jemmy Twitcher – Takano Kenya
In the latter part of the run and in Osaka, Peachum was played by Hashimoto Satoshi and Filch by Harada Yuichi.
