This production opened at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on January 24th 2015, where it played in repertoire with two different principal casts until 14 March.
The production originated at Houston Grand Opera in Texas, where the première performance was at the Wortham Centre Opera House on 22 January 2010. It subsequently played for LA Opera at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles opening on 18th May 2013. The première performance was at the Wortham Centre Opera House on 22 January 2010.
